Boca Raton Highlights

We’ve been home from Florida for a couple of weeks now, and I think this is a case of absence making the heart grow fonder. Although neither Jeff nor I was impressed by our accommodations, all six of us agreed it was a lovely vacation.

Highlights included: playing in the (stronger-each-day) waves, playing in the sand, Jack enjoying the Hunger Games trilogy, playing in the kiddie pool, and movies and room service in the evening. (Favorites of the trip were We Bought a Zoo and Big Miracle, plus Maria’s fascination with The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. Ugh.)

Another highlight was having dinner on the 26th floor of the main resort with panoramic views of the intercostal and the ocean. Although Maria fell asleep, I was struck by how mature the other three seemed to me that evening, as we talked about our favorite places to visit, and listened to Jeff talk about diving with sharks and eels in South Africa. (All three, but especially Jack, we’re enthralled by Jeff’s tales. Sort of neat for me to witness that.)

Awesome post and pictures! Who is wearing a navy and white tank top, Maggie or Maria?

Maggie I think. Plus the little girl in the last picture with Maria was a new friend Maria made. Her name was Brooklyn and her two-year-old brother’s name was Jake. They are from Toronto and were visiting their grandmother in Boca Raton. All three of the Cooper girls really enjoyed playing with the two new friends for a few days.
