Grandparent’s Day!

Metro East Montessori is hosting their second annual Grandparents’ Day today! The school is packed full of grandparents, parents, and children. All three Cooper girls were very excited that they had three grandparents in the rotation – no one ever had to be alone!!

Ms McGuire commented to me just now at how surprised she was that the classrooms, for being so full, are relatively calm and quiet. She summed it up beautifully: “Grandparents are much more willing to be still – true observers. Parents tend to hurry around the room, looking for the ‘hardest’ work to have their children do. Grandparents just enjoy anything the child chooses.” Funny. Kind of true of real life, too!
